Professor Peterson is Associate Dean and professor of management for the College. Prior to joining NDSU, Dr. Peterson was the Director of Undergraduate Learning Assurance and the Director of the Business Fellows at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. As Director of Undergraduat Learning Assurance he conceptualized and built the Transitions Program that developed the seven vital competencies for all Mays Business students. As the Director of the Fellows Program, Dr. Peterson led the initiative to implement service-learning projects into the program. He has held professional positions with Oklahoma State University, University of Tulsa, and the United States Air Force Academy.

Dr. Peterson’s areas of research are leadership, teamwork, the scholarship of teaching, and and the organizational impact of information systems.  He has won three best paper awards from the Academy of Management for his scholarship. His teaching interests are leadership, teamwork, and work/life competencies. He has won at least one teaching award at each university he has served, and was the first faculty recipient of the University of Tulsa’s Medicine Wheel Award for service to the university and the Tulsa community.
